People can have dry skin when their sebum production levels are low and when their skin dries out because of this. Dry skin can be uncomfortable and a hassle to deal with. Having dry skin and not taking care of it can result in premature aging and peeling skin. Severe dry skin cases can actually lead to eczema or cracking and flaking skin. We've found three great ingredients that can sooth and moisturize dry skin!
Lactic acid
Lactic acid is derived from milk and is a gentle alpha hydroxy acid that can be used on all skin types, including sensitive skin. Lactic acid can improve hyperpigmentation and any signs of aging. It's different from other AHAs because it can improve the skin's moisture barrier. This is a great benefit for all skin types but it's especially great for drier skin types, who may experience flaky skin when using certain AHA skincare products.
Honey
Honey is a great ingredient to use for your skin because it's a humectant that can retain moisture within the skin. Using skincare products with honey can help to deeply moisturize and soften the skin. Honey also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which is great for removing excess sebum and to soothe redness in the skin.
Hyaluronic Acid
We've all heard of hyaluronic acid as a super ingredient to boost moisture to your skin! Hyaluronic acid is a great ingredient to use especially if you have dry skin! But you need to use it the right way to get great results. Make sure that you use hyaluronic acid products on damp skin and not dry skin.
