How to treat bacne

How to treat bacne - Kenage Beauty

What is bacne? Bacne occurs when acne occurs on your back due to oil, sweat, and dead skin cells trapped in your pores. Bacne can be tricky to deal with because it's a hard-to-reach area. However, you can incorporate some best practices that will help prevent and reduce the amount of acne on your back!

Use a salicylic acid cleanser twice a day

Salicylic acid is terrific for getting rid of acne. Salicylic acid is oil-soluble BHA and can penetrate the skin deeply to clean out your pores. Using a salicylic acid cleanser can be less irritating than leave-on creams, and it's an easy way to incorporate it into your skincare routine.

Use over-the-counter acne gels, creams, or sprays

Using acne gels, creams, or sprays on your back will help you get rid of your acne quicker. Using salicylic acid creams can help reduce the amount of acne on your back because it can exfoliate the skin and break down the bonds between dead skin cells. Using retinol can help with post-acne scars by increasing skin cell turnover.

Shower right after your workout

It would be best if you tried to shower after your workout immediately. If you leave sweat on your body for too long, the heat and humidity will encourage bacterial growth and clog pores and cause acne. It's best to keep clean after your workout but not dry out your skin by showering too much! Too much showering can dry out your skin, and it can cause your skin to overproduce oil, potentially leading to clogged pores.

Avoid the sun

Do not expose your back to the sun without applying sunscreen! The sun can darken acne scars which can make them look more prominent. Once you get dark spots, they are also more challenging to get rid of and take a long time to fade, especially on the back. It's best to use a non-comedogenic sunscreen with 50 SPF.

Use a lightweight moisturizer

Even if you're suffering from bacne, it's still important to moisturize your back! If you deprive your skin of moisture, your skin will become dry and can overproduce oil. When there is an overproduction of oil, it can lead to clogged pores, which will turn into acne. So, it's best to use a lightweight gel moisturizer on your back to ensure you're not stripping your strip from the necessary moisture. Also, remember to look for a moisturizer that says non-comedogenic, which will not clog your pores.
